Cizre Talks: Pain, Death and Destruction

The people of Cizre talk about the military lockdown and siege of the Kurdish district of Sirnak, during which death, destruction and war crimes were committed by Turkish state forces.

As clashes intensified between state forces and the Kurdish fighters of the Civil Defence Units (YPS), between November 2015 and February 2016, state forces attacked residential areas with heavy artillery, tanks and sniper fire, killing civilians indiscriminately.

Violence peaked in February when state forces burned alive approximately 178 people across 3 basements.
This documentary brings together the harrowing incidents that took place in Cizre to shed light on crimes that the world ignored.

This documentary was produced by the Peoples‘ Democratic Party (HDP).
