Republican Sinn Féin organise protest against visit of British Queen to
Ireland

Republican Sinn Féin will protest against the visit of the
British Queen to Ireland with a demonstration assembling at Belfast City
Hall on Wednesday June 27th at 10:30am. Speaking as the arrangements for
the protest were being made, a spokesperson for Republican Sinn Féin said
“The visit of the British Queen as part of her Jubilee celebrations
is another part of the process of normalisation of British Rule that would
have Ireland made as British as Finchley. British Rule in Ireland can
never be normal and this is exemplified by the fact that there are
Republican prisoners in Maghaberry on protest, political hostages like
Marian Price and Martin Corey are interned and thousands of British troops
are required to maintain that rule.”

„Republican Sinn Féin calls on Irish Republicans to protest
against the visit of the head of the British State and armed forces to any
part of Ireland while Ireland remains occupied. Ireland must not be seen
as another pacified part of the British Empire. That would be an insult
to all those who have fought and died for Irish Freedom. The British
Queen must not be greeted by fawning toadies but by defiant Croppies who
will not lie down and allow this insult to stand unopposed.”
