Police attacked demonstration in Diyarbakir

Ten people detained following clashes at demonstration in Diyarbakir

Thousands gathered in front of the BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) office in Diyarbakir earlier this evening to protest against the Iranian aggression on the border. Clashes erupted when police attacked the crowd after some youngsters had thrown stones.

Ten people have been detained following the clashes. The police searched the streets near by the area of the demonstration.

The meeting had been called at 6pm. The crowd could only walk up to Bayındırlık Caddesi, a street a few hundred meters away from the BDP building and was stopped by the police. Hundreds of antiriot heavily armed policemen had blocked the road deniying permission to the crowd to march through.

The people started a sit in chanting slogans against the Turkish army ongoing operations as well as the Iranian operation into the Kurdistan Federal Region.

Police was ready to attack the crowd, and when they put on the gas masks it was clear that they would do so. Indeed a couple of stones thrown were enough for the beginning of a vicious and violent attack. People started to run back while the ambulances‘ sirens began to be heard.

On a side road a police car was hit by a stone and a policemen immediately got outside and without a single thought fired a live bullet into the air.

Children, the main victims of war

http://www.imgbox.de/users/public/images/XT78BXuvON.jpg
Doğan Teyboğa, Mehmet Ayık, Evrim Demir: children are those who bear the biggest scars of war.

Doğan Teyboğa was 13 when he died, a few days ago. He was hit in the head by a tear gas canister during a violent police attack on a demonstration in Cudi Neighborhood in Silopi, a district of Şırnak on July 24. The teenager died in the intensive care unit of Diyarbakır State Hospital. His funeral have been hold in Silopi after the autopsy was carried out.

Mehmet Ayık was 20. He set himself on fire on July 21 at 5:00 pm in Side, a town of the Manavgat district in Antalya. He died early this morning. Mehmet was also protesting, like Doğan, against the repression he and the Kurdish people have to suffer every day of their life. Mehmet had chosen a symbolic date for his protest: 14 July, the day four Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) members went on hunger strike in 1982. Ayık had been taken to Akdeniz University Hospital with burns over 90 percent of his body.

Ayık’s cousin said that Mehmet last message was; “No one has the power to stop our people’s struggle for freedom.”

Doğan, Mehmet. Before them Evrim Demir, a young, bright Kurdish woman who graduated with top marks from her high school. She also set herself on fire. She did it in her garden in Mus. She doused herself with petrol. She left a note saying “I‘m not a separatist; I‘m not a terrorist! I‘m a Kurd”. And this is the reason why children are killed. Because they are Kurds. Children are suffering a great deal in Kurdistan because of the repression and the war. A young boy, now on his thirties, tells of his ordeal. He has lost his father and uncle in this war. They had been abducted by gendarmerie and killed. Their bones only discovered after years. The magistrate told the family they could take the bones to bury them properly. Except they were in a bag containing the remains of other 6 people. The family rejected the ‚offer‘, yet another insult to their suffering. The boy today has a job in Diyarbakir and he is looking after his family, being the eldest boy. With him, six brothers and sisters. What he and his family went through left scars which will never be healed. He is reflecting on the past suffering and says: „The loss of a father in this way is so painful is hard to explain. But this loss also brought other losses. For example, I had to leave the school when my father disappeared, because being the oldest in the family I had to take my father place as the breadwinner. I could not study. So my life was actually decided by somebody else. Like the life of thousands in this country was decided by others, the Turkish warmongers“.

Before young Teyboğa eighteen-month-old Mehmet Uytun died after being hit by a canister when police attacked a demonstration on October 9, 2009 in Cizre, a district of Şırnak. Mustafa Dağ and Mahsum Karoğlan lost their life on April 4, 2009 after being hit by a gendarmerie tear gas canister in Urfa. Sixty-year-old Kazım Şeker, died because of intensive gas used by police on April 27, in Bismil, a district of Diyarbakır. Fifty-four year-old Hatice İdin, who sustained brain damage after having been hit by a police tear gas on June 12 this year (the day of the general election), died from her injuries in Batman World Hospital on July 1st. Fifty-three year-old Metin Lokumcu, a retired teacher, lost his life as a result of the police’s intense usage of tear gas while they were dispersing a protest demonstration against Prime Minister Tayyip Erdoğan in Hopa, a district of Artvin, on May 31. In addition, police have injured 35 Kurdish children with tear gas canisters when they attacked protests in Nusaybin, a district of Mardin, over the last two months.

The list of the seriously injured people is long: Mahfuz Kutlu, was hit in the face by police tear gas canister and, as a result, lost an eye. Kutlu was participating at a protest against Supreme Election Board’s (YSK) decision in Mersin. Police injured seventy-five year-old Halime Kayar and eleven others during the celebration of the election results on June 12 in Siirt. Her wounds required more than 100 stitches in her head. On June 6, a police tear gas canister hit Hüseyin Caruş in the face during a protest march in Diyarbakır and, as a result, he lost his eye. Fifty-six-year-old Nezir Gecidibi was seriously injured on June 6 in Mardin. Also, a mentally handicapped young boy was cruelly beaten on June 28 in Istanbul. Police also injured Ümit Özeren on June 24 in Yüksekova, a district of Hakkari, 65-year-old Hasbiye Tunç and Nezir Gecidibi on June 26, in Nusaybin, a district of Mardin; Mahfuz Kutlu on June 30 in Mersin; and 73-year-old Adile Savcı on July 4 in Nusaybin.

Kundgebung zu den Attentaten in Oslo / Köln

http://linksunten.indymedia.org/image/712.jpg

PKK and Iran at risk of imminent war

http://www.imgbox.de/users/public/images/aYG5r09ual.jpg
Turkey and Iran have joined forces against the PKK. With America’s bless

Following heavy losses, including ten senior commanders, in clashes with Kurdish guerrillas, the Iranian army sent reinforcements and heavy weapons on the border to invade Kandil mountain. After PJAK (Party for a Free Life in Kurdistan), the PKK (Kurdistan Workers‘ Party), the largest Kurdish armed organization, is preparing for the war front, saying that the Iranian army has massed troops along the entire border.

Iranian forces are conducting a major operation since July 16 on the border areas with Iraqi Kurdistan. So far, all attempts to infiltrate the Iraqi border, have been foiled by PJAK guerrillas.

FIVE VILLAGERS WOUNDED

The Iranian shelling on Kurdish villages continued since the beginning of the operation, becoming increasingly violent. According to local sources, the army warned villagers to leave the area. At least five people were injured, including a woman in the Iranian shelling on the village of Sune, near Qala Dize, in Iraqi Kurdistan.

TEN SENIOR COMMANDERS KILLED

PJAK claims to have killed more than 150 Iranian soldiers in clashes and attacks carried out in retaliation for the military operation during the first eight days. Among the losses are thought to be also ten Iranian senior commanders, including three generals. They have been killed between 17 and 21 July in two different attacks.

Three generals and five commanders were killed July 21 in an ambush in Dola Koke, in the region of Kandil. They are Gen Abbas of the Revolutionary Guards Body in Qom (center), Colonel Delavar Ranjbarzadeh, commander of the Revolutionary Guards (Pasdaran) in the region of Sardasht (Iranian Kurdistan, north-western Iran) , commander of special forces Hadjiagha Maroufi and five other senior commanders: Ali Akhbar Jamrassi, Mahmoud Tabar, Najat Mousavi, Mahdi Khabir, Rohoullah Sehrahi.

Two other commanders, Colonel Muhammad Abdullah and Colonel Aram Habibollah Zadeh, were killed on July 17 in the region of Komasan in a guerrillas ambush.

A spokesman for PJAK has announced that eight guerrilla fighters have lost their life and four have been wounded during the first seven days of the military operation.

TURKISH COMMANDOS IN IRANIAN RANKS

While the Iranian regime continues with its manipulation and covering up of the truth and deaths among its ranks, the army has massed troops on an area of 15 km at the borders of Turkey bombing also PKK controlled areas. The PKK is at war with Turkey for 30 years.

At least 300 Turkish commandos were deployed at the border to bring the support of the AKP government of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the Iranian regime, local sources said.

SOLDIERS FLED

In this unjustified war against PJAK, which was observing a ceasefire since 2009, several Iranian soldiers have fled, especially in the areas of Sardasht and Piranshahr indicate local sources. The „village guards“, members of a militia created by the Iranian authorities to counter the guerrillas, also refuse to participate in the war against „Kurdish brothers.“

30 THOUSAND SOLDIERS ON THE BORDER

Head of Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), Murat Karayilan, said PJAK is waging a war to prevent the Iranian army to invade the region. „The aim of Iran is ultimately to invade Kandil“ Karayilan said, announcing the presence of 30,000 troops on the border. „We have not declared war against Iran,“ he added stating his support for PJAK.

PKK PREPARES FOR WAR

PKK guerrillas are making war preparation in the regions of Xinere and Xakurke, between Iran, Iraq and Turkey.

IRAN PLANS TO MOVE INTO THE REGION

According to information obtained, the Iranian regime is planning to take control of Berdanaze, Berdebizina, and Mount Lelikan Shekif on the border of the city of Sidekan, in Iraqi Kurdistan, defining a second boundary line. The region is officially Sidekan within the borders of the autonomous region of Kurdistan, but this area is under the protection of PKK guerrillas.

PKK says it is ready to confront the Iranian army, while calling for an immediate cessation of operations. „The Kurds are the oldest people on the land (…) we will not submit and we will never do! “ said lead PKK.

AN ALLIANCE BETWEEN IRAN AND TURKEY-IRAQ-USA

PKK and PJAK also criticize the silence of the autonomous Kurdish government in Baghdad for not having any official reaction to Iranian aggression. According to the Kurdish MP Mahmoud Osman, the three countries (Iran, Iraq and Turkey) have agreed on the transaction. „Silence is the assertion, which proves that there is an agreement between Iran, Iraq and Turkey,“ he said. „Obviously, America is also supporting this situation. It is standing by Turkey on this issue and it is sharing intelligence with Turkey. Turkey is then passing this information to Iran. There is an alliance between the three countries.“
